Purpose: Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.

Heavy equipment may include;

  • Trucks
  • Loaders
  • Dozers
  • Graders
  • Compactors
  • and other pieces of equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
  • Keeping the workspace clean and safe for yourself and other operators.
  • Advise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs needed.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • Maintain inventory.

Working Conditions: The working environment for on-site heavy duty mechanics is outdoors and in all types of weather conditions. You are also required to stay in camp when working on some sites.

Experience: Any experience is preferred.

Education/Training Requirements:

  • First Aid/CPR and H2S Alive is a pre-job requisite. 
  • Other tickets may be required on certain sites.

Communication: You will need to work closely with other operators and a field foreman.

Other: Valid driver's licence, willing to travel, remote locations.
