
Purpose: Responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Heavy equipment may include;
- Trucks
- Loaders
- Dozers
- Graders
- Compactors
- and other pieces of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and efficient way according to company policies and procedures.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Ensure heavy equipment is safely and securely stored when not in use.
- Keeping the workspace clean and safe for yourself and other operators.
- Advise the Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs needed.
- Participate in routine maintenance.
- Practice workplace safety.
- Maintain inventory.
Working Conditions: The working environment for on-site heavy duty mechanics is outdoors and in all types of weather conditions. You are also required to stay in camp when working on some sites.
Experience: Any experience is preferred.
Education/Training Requirements:
- First Aid/CPR and H2S Alive is a pre-job requisite.
- Other tickets may be required on certain sites.
Communication: You will need to work closely with other operators and a field foreman.
Other: Valid driver's licence, willing to travel, remote locations.
